STORM DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

Being affected by extreme storms, be it hurricanes or tornados, can be disorienting for property owners and managers. Rodgers Architects can provide quick response in assessing the extent of exterior envelope damage. Often problems can be hidden to the untrained eye. We can provide a full investigation of roof and wall components.

Past storm damage assessments:

• Shopping Center, Cordele, GA - A large tornado storm ramsacked western Georgia causing millions of dollars of damage. This shopping center lost several storefront canopies and suffered major disbondage of the roof system. Rodgers Architects coordinated with the owner's insurance adjuster in designing an appropriate repair/replacement project.
• High Rise, Orlando, FL- Two consequetive hurricanes ravaged downtown Orlando in 2004. The membrane on this roof had almost completely disbonded from the insulation. Rodgers Architects quickly designed a replacement project with a roof system that could withstand sustained winds of 150 mph.
• Shopping Center, Mobile, AL - Hurricane Katrina and Ivan caused Mobile to withstand the effects of two major storms. This shopping center had a TPO (single-ply) roof that had peeled away at the corner. Another section of the center had an entire store that was taking in water from several different areas. Rodgers Architects coordinated with the structural engineer to provide a damage report to the client.
